Does what it says in a fast and relatively clean way. You get a list with 3 columns: IP Address, MAC Address, Vendor. I really would have liked Device Name or something like that so I could tell all my Apple macs and iPhones apart! But it works.

Does exactly what it says: "Lans your scan"! I need this for GTK+ on my Debian box. Way faster than nmap, cause it just looks for devices net card id, no complicated setup, its 123. Now that I have a host IP, I can then scan it with nmap to get more info IFF I need it. Thanks, great job, great software.
Simply scans your network but doesnt provide a way to describe or alias each device so you can tell each apart. I have 9 of my 10 devices that are Apple, a little confusing. But free and worked without any problem.
I wish it had the device name too!. Very Good software!!!
Due to one of the networks I frequently connect to having two subnets, I have two IP addresses on en1. These show up in System Preferences as Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi 2. Wi-Fi uses DHCP so it can work anywhere, but LanScan ignores this. It only scans with the second address when set to use en1. Since there is no way to choose what to scan besides selecting the interface, it is impossible for me to scan the network Im connected to with wi-fi without deleting the secondary configuration on en1. Since I use the secondary subnet more frequently than I would use LanScan, Id rather delete LanScan than the secondary configuration on the interface.
The app works greak but Im mystified what the Rip-Off of the Adium duck Icon has to do with Network Scanning.
This app is just what I needed and the price is perfect too.
Since the latest Airport Utulity lost the feature of logs and statistics, I couldnt find what machines were on my home network. With this free tool, I now can. 4 stars because I know it didnt pick up all the network devices.
Works great but would be awesome to have more things you could do with the data like naming the devices for later to distinguish from eachother.
Using an Airport Extreme I have struggled for years to find my pesky networked camera and printer, (They like to change addresses for no reason) I was left to change manually .101, .102, .103 until I found the right one. Now I run this little and "THANK YOU FREE" app and there they are. At least mostly anyway, showing 2 from, Apple, Inc, 1 from Apple inc (no comma after Apple), 1 from Apple Computer and 1 from, OKI Electric Industry Co, Inc. Thanks
Seriously. This app is small and lightweight. It automatically detects your IP range and scans for all devices within that range and displays their MAC address and who makes the device. Boots fast, easy to use, great for simple network scanning. HIGHLY recommend. Besides, its FREE!
It detected all of the devices on my network and it even displays each devices vendor (which is really useful). Great app!
It found all my devices on my network.
How about the capability for scanning a remote subnet? 5 Stars if you can make that work as fast as the current iteration.
Just added a printer to my home network and wanted to see what the IP and MAC address were. LanScan did just that. Very easy to use and super informative.
This will scan your network for all devices and return the mac address, internal IP and Vendor. It does not provide the Hostname, instead it displays "*** Go Pro! ***" This tool is useless to me with out the hostname. In my opinion, instead of wasting my time, the developer should have disclosed this in the description of the app and informed the downloader of any limitations this software may have.
Was looking for something to give me the same arpscan results I used to get on fedora. This is it, just works in true Mac fashion.
I use this to get the IPs from my college library printers to print without paying (hehe). It works very well.
needed to find a connected device on my airport based network, worked like a champ
This small app will quicklly scan the network and show a list of connected devices as advertised. I am tempted to get the pro version as it is supposed to be even faster and will display more hostnames which would be nice. But so far this app has done everything they said it would and I like it. I recomened this App.
